So much different and so much the same!
I hadn’t been back to BG/PMZ for 33 years. Wow. A few dichotomies I observed:
1. It was like it was yesterday + it felt like a lifetime ago
2. Everything was the same + everything was different
3. I was comfortable + I was uncomfortable
4. Our undergrads are incredibly intelligent and wise + they have much to learn still
5. I was flooded with cherished memories from the past + created new memories to cherish
6. We WERE that young + we were NEVER that young
7. I didn’t know anything about brothers I met for the first time + it was like I’ve known them my whole life.
8. I worry about the future of our chapter + I know it’s in very capable hands.
9. I would do it all over again + hell no.
10. Lots of traditions still in place + some undergrads didn’t know Magic Carpet Ride was our song??!! (HUH?) (And to be fair, I had no clue Wagon Wheel was a thing.)
